5-5

W 110 - 77 @FAVRE=SUPERBOWL MN#4

At the top of the blog today, I want to say that Michael Vick's performance last night against the Redskins was fantasy mayhem. He threw for 333 yards and 4 TDs, and ran for 80 yards and 2 more TDs! Thanks Mike!

His 49 fantasy points were enough to put me over the top.

RB/WR: Mistakes this week were minimal, I could have played Marshawn Lynch in the RB/WR slot. He outscored Pierre Garcon - who had yet another ugly week. Loss: 8 points

D/ST: I played the wrong defense in the Arizona/Seattle game. Loss: 12 points

4-5

L 50 - 129 @DEEP SOUTH BALLBUSTERS

QB: No mistakes here, decided to play Michael Vick. Vick said he was 100% early last week, and he proved it on the field, throwing for 218 yards and a TD and rushing for another 74 yards and another TD. He has another impressive stat going this year, but I'm not going to jinx it by mentioning it.

RB: With Chris Johnson on a bye week, I was left with Thomas Jones and Benjarvusaurus Green-Ellis to pick up the slack. The pair combined for 46 yards and no TDs. Marshawn Lynch had more yards on his own from my bench. Loss: 3 points

WR: We can lump these guys together too. Chad 85, Pierre Garcon and Miles Austin combined for, again, 46 yards and no TDs.

D/ST: I picked up the Cardinals D/ST just before their game Sunday morning. I did not, however, have the stones to play them. Despite the Cardinals' OT loss to the Vikings, the D had 2 interceptions, recovered a fumble, sacked the QB 3 times and returned a kick for a TD. Loss: 25 points

4-4

W 54 - 43 @uckz

Our winning streak continues (barely)! Right at the top I want to give props to a guy who plays a position that does not get a lot of focus on this post game blog. This week kicker Sebastian Janikowski was top scorer in my starting lineup - he kicked 4-for-5 on field goals, plus netted 3 extra points. Kick his ass Sebas!

RB: A slow week for my running backs. My #1, 2 and 3 backs combined for 140 yards and 1 TD this week. Chris Johnson, Thomas Jones and Marshawn Lynch, the last of whom carried 9 times for 7 yards, proved I need to make a move in my backfield if I'm going to make the playoffs - not that I am complaining with 3 wins in a row. Should have played BenJarvusaurus Green-Ellis (120, 2). Loss: 24 points

WR: Went with my gut and benched Miles Austin due to his QB being severely injured last week. Should have known back up John Kitna would get him the ball. Should have played Miles over Chad Ochocinco. Mr. 85 caught 3 balls for 35 yards, Austin caught 7 for 117. Loss: 8 points

ON THE BENCH WEEK 9: Matt Schaub, Marshawn Lynch, Chad 85, Nick Folk, Michael Vick, Devin Hester, Kevin Walter, Nick Folk

3-4

Sorry for skipping a week, y'all. I didn't want to jinx our possible winning streak. After losing 4 straight games, we took stock of our entire organization, and made some changes.

And we won two games. These were hard fought wins. We will contend for a playoff spot.

Week 6 - W 84-60 @Team odell

RB/WR: Could have played Pierre Garçon instead of BenJarvus Green-Ellis. BenJarvus sounds like the name of a dinosaur. Loss: 8 points

Matt Schaub, Chris Johnson and Thomas Jones came up huge this week; they scored 56 of my points.

Week 7 - W 102 -78 @Shizzas

With my starting QB on a bye week, back-up Matt Ryan threw for 299 yards and 3 TDs. Huge day.

RB: Chris Johnson had another quiet week. BenJarvusaurus Green-Ellis actually had more points from the bench. Loss: 2 points

Chad 85 caught 10 balls for 108 yards and a TD. He was due for a big week, and the organization congratulates him on his success. We look for him to have another big day next week against Miami!

Recent League Activity

We also picked up the Seahawks D/ST at the last minute Sunday morning. Just in time for them to score an interception, 4 fumble recoveries and 2 sacks against Arizona. Way to go D!

ON THE BENCH WEEK 8: Matt Ryan, Michael Vick (questionable), BenJarvus Green-Ellis (herbavore), Devin Hester, Kevin Walter and 1 T.B.D. (likely Miles Austin if it turns out Tony Romo got hurt bad tonight)

L 75-90 @BALLBUSTERS

The team is on an historic slide. Never before in the one-and-a-half NFL seasons I've kept this blog have I lost FOUR games in a row. I wish I had excuses. I made a couple small mistakes this week, but nothing that would have put me over the top.

QB: Matt Schaub had a dreadful game against the New York Giants; 0 TDs, 1 INT and 2 fumbles. Yikes. SHP Matt Ryan, who threw 1 TD and only fumbled once. Here's hoping Michael Vick is back in action in soon. Loss: 6 points

RB/WR: Thomas Jones carried 8 times for 19 yards. Not a stand out performance, to say the least. Jerricho Cotchery had better luck. But not much better. Loss: 2 points

The only reason the game was even close this week was Nick Folk, kicker for the New York Jets. I want to give him credit for being consistent through this difficult stretch in our team's history.

Looking forward to turning it around next week!

L 62-70 @Houston H___s

QB: Michael Vick was unfortunately injured in the opening quarter of the Eagles' game against Washington this week. Plus, the play he got injured on was called back on a penalty - so I didn't even get those yards. SHP Matt Schaub who threw for 210 yards and 2 TDs. Loss: 13 points

RB: It was a tough week for my backfield. Chris Johnson had his second minimalist performance of the season, carrying the ball 19 times for just 53 yards. No mistakes here, just the ache of disappointment.

Week 5 looks promising, gang! Miles Austin and Thomas Jones should be well rested coming off a bye week. We're due for a win. Let's stay positive.

1-2

L 62-109 @VICTORY ROAD POKEMON MASTERS

QB: I acquired Michael Vick early this week after the Eagles named him the week 3 starting QB. I did not play Vick, but instead I took ESPN's advice and went with Matt Schaub. Schaub threw for 242 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs. Vick threw for 291, 3, and 0. Vick also ran for a TD. A monumental blunder! Loss: 23 points

D/ST: The Patriots D failed to stop the so far anemic offense of the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots won, but the Bills dropped 30 points on my defense. SHP Chargers D/ST. Loss: 7 points

Not announcing bench players just yet. After two straight losses, the organization is going to take its time before making any decisions.

1-1

L 74-130 @H__ AllDay

D/ST
: Cowboys had a rough day against the normally interception prone J. Cutler. Meanwhile San Diego's D intercepted the ball 4 times against Jacksonville, and recovered 2 fumbles too. Biggest mistake of the season so far! Loss: 12 points

RB: This might be the last time I ever say this, but this week I SHP (should have played) Chargers' Darren Sproles over my #1 draft pick Chris Johnson. Secondly, I played the wrong Jones; Felix was a bust with 7 rushing yards, while Thomas had 85 yards from my bench. Loss: 14 points

WR: SHP Jerricho Cotchery over 85 this week. Cotch' had 4 catches, one of which was a TD. Loss: 4 points

ON THE BENCH WEEK 3: Matt Ryan, Felix Jones, Cowboys D/ST, Owen Daniels, Jerricho Cotchery, Thomas Jones

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

1-0

W 100-63 v. Getto Gangstas

A fine start to the season, if I do say so myself.

QB: Atlanta's Matt Ryan actually outscored starter Matt Schaub in week one. Schaub's numbers were subdued by a superb running performance from back Arian Foster. He should be more Schaub-y soon, and thus is still my #1. Loss: 2 points.

TE: His questionable knee convinced me to keep Visanthe Shiancoe on the bench week 1, and it proved to be the wrong move. Shiancoe caught 4 balls for 76 yards and a TD. Loss: 10 points.

ON THE BENCH WEEK 2: Matt Ryan, Jerricho Cotchery, Kellen Winslow, Kevin Smith, Owen Daniels, Chargers D/ST, Felix Jones or Darren Sproles.

Season 2!

Somebody give me a drum roll! League of Bros 2010 is underway! Draft day came and went not ten minutes ago, and I came straight here to share this year's roster with y'all.

QB Matt Schaub, Hou
RB CHRIS JOHNSON, Ten
RB Felix Jones, Dal
WR Pierre Garçon, Ind
WR Miles Austin, Dal
WR 85, Cin
TE Kellen Winslow, TB
D/ST Cowboys
K Nick Folk, NYJ

Those are the starters anyway. Pierre Garçon and Miles Austin are back! I solemnly swear that I did my best to re-pick as many players from last year's team as possible. Today I look around and I see a lot of new faces, but I think that will be a good thing. I think this team can win a lot of games.

Fantasy Offseason Post #3

Just checked ESPN's Fantasy Staff Top 200. None of my guys are in the top 20!

Miles Austin is the 8th ranked WR, and 24th overall, which is all pure nonsense. I'm taking Austin WR1. Peyton ranked 21 overall - and 3rd QB behind Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.

I will stay true to my promise to draft as many of the same players as possible, but I will not make ridiculous decisions come draft day in order to maintain last year's roster. You can call me out on opening day if I'm being dishonest about this.

Have a great summer!

Fantasy Offseason Post #2

Good luck to Peyton Manning, Pierre Garcon, and Devery Henderson tonight in Super Bowl XLIV! Two negative roman numerals in one roman number; it's gonna be exciting!

Fantasy Offseason Post #1

Congratulations to Pierre Garcon
for a great performance in the AFC Championship game, catching 11 balls for 151 yards and a TD. Way to go Pierre!

Next year I will draft as many of the players mentioned in this year's blog as possible. In the meantime this blog will report any news, football related or otherwise, pertaining to the players mentioned in this year's blog.

See you in the 2010-11 season!
