1-2

W 96-83 @Team McGillicuddy

Hark!  A win!

Roster Update Blast

dropped Santonio Holmes, WR (NYJ)  added Andre Brown, RB (NYG)
dropped Mike Goodson (OAK)             added Jon Dwyer (PIT)
dropped Scott Chandler (BUF)              added Brandon LaFell (CAR)

RB: New addition Andre Brown, who I picked up at the suggestion of a friend to replace Matt Forte for Week 3, started for the Giants and carried 20 times for 113 yards and 2 TDs.  Thanks, friend!

QB: Golden boy Cam Newton was slow again this week, he threw three INTs.  If not for a rushing TD he scored, he would've ended the day with as many fantasy points.  SHP Peyton Manning (330 yds, 2 TDs, 0 INTs)  against the Houston Texas. Loss: 12 points

WR: Picked up the Panthers' Brandon LaFell and played him in Miles Austin' s slot.  I tried to do too much here, I should have let Miles be Miles; despite bruising his ribs in the game, he caught 7 balls for over 100 yards.  I'm trusting my wideouts next week. Loss: 8 points

ON THE BENCH WEEK 4: Cam Newton, Matt Forte (ankle), Jets D/ST, Kevin Ogletree, 3 TBD

0-2

L 74-101 @FunkyTown SuperNovas

QB: Cam was in true 2011 form this week; he threw for 253 yards and a TD, and rushed for 71 with a rushing score.  Not many QBs were better, and Peyton Manning was no exception, tossing 3 picks against Atlanta

RB: The Bears' Matt Forte injured his ankle early Sunday, managing to run for 30 yards and catch 4 balls for almost 50 before going down.  He will be out for the next few weeks.  I am without a good running back option, and may have to make some roster adjustments, which will be disclosed next week.

ON THE BENCH WEEK 3: Peyton Manning, Mike Goodson, Mike Tolbert, Jets D/ST, Kevin Ogletree, Tim Tebow, 1 TBD

0-1

L 108-106 @Hogwarts Gryffindors

A collective groan sounds as I fall to 0-1 yet again

QB: Before my league's draft this year, I spoke with a lot of fantasy football owners.  I asked them all the same question: "Should I draft Cam Newton in the 1st round? "  With a few exceptions, the resounding response in bars, on the sidewalk, at parties, at work, and on reddit and espn.com boards was a "no" qualified with a prediction that Cam would run for far fewer TDs in 2012 than he did in 2011 (15, and NFL record for QBs).  Well, I didn't draft Cam in the first round; I drafted him in the second.

Newton had no rushing TD in Week 1, and threw for only 1.  Add two interceptions, and despite Cam's 300 yard day, his fantasy performance was sub par.  SHP: Peyton Manning, who also threw 253 yards and three TDs.  And no INTs.  Loss: 8 points

Other than that early blip at QB, Week 1 was mistake free.  Still, falling to 0-1 in such a close match up stings.

ON THE BENCH WEEK 2: Peyton Manning, Santonio Holmes, Mike Tolbert, Tim Tebow, Mike Goodson, Kevin Ogletree, Jets D/ST
